The CDMA Development Group (CDG www.cdg.org) and the CDG Smart Wireless Special Interest Group (M2M SIG) are pleased to announce the Smart Wireless Workshop, which will be held on the afternoon of Monday, October 4, during the TMC 4G Wireless Evolution (4GWE) and M2M Evolution Conference, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA.
The half-day workshop, "Building the Future with M2M," will feature CDMA operators, MVNOs, application/middleware, device and module vendors exploring the business case and implementation tools necessary for companies to succeed in delivering smart wireless services across a number of vertical markets: tele-medicine, smart grid/energy, telematics and consumer electronics.

Additional CDG M2M Initiatives
The CDG has launched several initiatives to enhance M2M communications in the CDMA community:
CDG 2010 Smart Wireless Awards: These awards celebrate innovative wireless devices and services using wireless modules on CDMA2000 networks. The awards honor M2M solutions for consumers, enterprises, and the energy, healthcare and telematics vertical markets in the categories of modules, devices and mobile services.
Nominations are being accepted through August 20 at www.cdg.org/smartawards; awards will be presented following the
Smart Wireless Workshop on October4 in Los Angeles.

CDG Device Corner: An online marketplace to enable the growth of machine-to-machine (M2M) communications for smart wireless modules and devices. This free Web-based portal, (
www.devicecorner.com), allows buyers and sellers to exchange information about CDMA2000 and multi-mode modules and devices, including integrated solutions.
Device Corner allows registered sellers to post information about products, and permits potential buyers to view that information without registration. If a viewer finds a module or solution to purchase, he can complete a free registration before receiving the seller’s contact information. Likewise, registered buyers may post information about their unique needs, and solution providers can obtain more information via the same registration process. There is no charge for use of Device Corner or sales made as a result of its use.
