TMC Launches Super WiFi Summit at ITEXPO

TMC and Crossfire Media have announced that the Super WiFi Summit will be colocated with ITEXPO, on Feb. 2 to 4, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Super WiFi represents the next evolution in the wireless experience. The opening of white space for Super WiFi will create better mobility in a number of ways, and the Super WiFI Summit will discuss what this change will mean for service providers, local TV operators, municipalities, enterprises and consumers.

“Today the WIFI market includes millions of chips and products that spread from enterprise solutions, to service provider solutions, to home products -- and all of these solutions are dependent upon coverage, interoperability, and ultimately the licensing spectrum,” said Carl Ford, community developer for Crossfire Media, and co-producer of the Super WiFI Summit.  “We’ll discuss how the opening of TV White Space is creating new opportunities and standards - and we’ll also identify the types of business models that are best suited to capitalize on these opportunities.”

Highlighted sessions featured in the Super WiFi Summit include:

  • WiFi: The root of the Wireless Internet Continues to Evolve;
  • Super WiFi Product Plans;
  • How WISPs are Experiencing Strength and Hope;
  • How Cognitive Radio is Taking Ethernet Radio to the Edge;
  • Report from the TV White Space Trial.

Additional information on the conference program will be made available in a subsequent release.

Some of the largest companies participating in the battle for Super WiFi include: Agilent; Belkin; D-Link; Cisco; Google; Harris; Intel; Microsoft; Samsung; Spectrum Bridge; and Xirrus. The content offered in the SuperWiFi Summit is targeted toward:

  • Service providers, looking to launch new off-load solutions that address bottlenecks;
  • Local TV operators, seeking to support advertisers with local data and entertainment services;
  • Municipalities, libraries, and school systems, seeking to interact with constituencies beyond their buildings;
  • And enterprises, who wish to use Super WiFi to achieve a new level of integration and workflow to support better business processes.

Registration for the Super WiFi Summit is open. To sponsor or exhibit, contact Anthony Cassio at [email protected]. Members of the media can reserve media credentials by contacting Todd Keefe at For Immediate Release PR.

The Super WiFi Summit is the latest edition to the ITEXPO lineup. Other events taking place at ITEXPO in Miami include: 4GWE; the Smart Grid Summit; Social CRM; M2M Evolution; Cloud Communications; SIP Tutorial; VIPeering; Channel Vision Expo; Business Video; StartupCamp; Super WiFi Summit; Regulatory 2.0, and Digium|Asterisk World.
