EJL Wireless Research Forecasts VET Antennas to Dominate Market By 2014

According to the latest report developed by EJL Wireless Research titled “Global BTS Antenna Market Analysis and Forecast, 2009-2014 2nd Edition”, there was a 17.2 percent increase in the global BTS antenna market in 2009, with the market being dominated by single band sectorized panel antennas. As per EJL Wireless Research, the BTS antenna market is bound to grow strongly in the years 2011 and 2012, while the year 2013 will experience a slow down in the BTS market.

In a release, founder and President Earl Lum said, “While remote electrical tilt (RET) enabled variable electrical tilt (VET), antennas were still a relatively small portion of the market in 2009 at 14 percent, we expect that this segment will become the dominant technology by 2014. China and India remains the largest BTS antenna markets in 2009; however we forecast that the largest growth through 2014 will be in the Western European region, due to LTE deployments in various frequency bands including 800MHz and 2600MHz.”

The report showed a considerable growth in the Multi-band BTS antenna market with an almost 39 percent increase over the preceding years, and forecasted that the volume is bound to be tripled by the year 2014.

Some of the factors driving the migration from single band products to multi-band products include: demands for reduced site costs, and the emergence of the new 800MHz Digital Dividend spectrum as well as the 2600MHz LTE spectrum. Providing a unique perspective on the global shipments and demands for BTS antenna equipment, the comprehensive report includes coverage for all frequency bands 450MHz to 2600MHz with support for the following standards: GSM/EDGE, W-CDMA/HSPA, CDMA2000, TD-SCDMA and FDD/TDD LTE.

Providing proprietary, accurate and cutting-edge market analysis and consulting services, EJL Wireless Research focuses its research on the wireless technology ecosystem across all vertical elements, including mobile subscribers, mobile operators, mobile handsets, mobile infrastructure and mobile content. Additionally, analysis is also provided across horizontal technology suppliers such as RF semiconductor materials, RF semiconductor/components, subsystems and OEMs.

With over 18 years of experience in the wireless industry, Mr. Earl Lum has considerable experience as an Equity Research Analyst on Wall Street covering the global wireless industry, thus efficiently managing EJL Wireless Research.
