Orange, Bluestreak to Deliver Orange Cinema series on Mobile Devices

Bluestreak Technology, which delivers software presentation solutions on multi-screen wireless and wired embedded devices, announced that it was selected by Orange to deliver the new Orange cinéma séries on demand service to mobile devices and tablets.

To offer this service, Bluestreak Technology assembled a complete video platform using its own technology and with the help of its industry partners like Labgency, VisualOn and Authentec.

Consumers who subscribe to Orange cinéma séries service can now download movies to their mobile devices and watch them offline up to 30 days after it has been broadcasted, at their convenience, company officials said. They can access the service, regardless of location or the availability of a network connection.

This new offline feature of Orange cinéma séries application complements the live 3G streaming watching experience, said Olivier Dhotel, director Mobile TV - Group Strategic Marketing at Orange.

“Our customers can take away their movies and series to watch them anytime anywhere, and stop and resume playback at their convenience,” Dhotel added. “To accomplish this, we carefully selected our partners, like Bluestreak Technology, with whom we worked hand in hand, to offer deep experience in delivering multimedia services that are optimized for each unique device type.”

Dominique Jodoin, Bluestreak Technology CEO and president, said, “This new project provides rich entertainment programming to consumers whenever and wherever they want it. Bluestreak Technology was able to work with an exceptional group of partner companies that displayed the professionalism, expertise, and sense of urgency necessary to provide a high-quality product in unprecedented timeframes.”

“We value the trust that Orange placed in us to lead this project and we look forward to collaborating further with the team as we expand the capabilities of this service in the future,” Jodoin added.

Launched in 2008, Orange cinéma series is a television and Internet service including five live channels dedicated to movies and series, also available on demand up to 30 days after their broadcast. The service is now available on numerous Android-powered mobile devices.

Recently Bluestreak Technology announced that SoftAtHome, a software provider of home operating platforms to deliver convergent applications, selected Bluestreak MachBlue Classic Flash-based platform.
