Rebtel Reaches New Milestone with 500 Million Calls and New Users

VoIP company Rebtel has achieved a new milestone since its inception in 2006 with more than 15 million users and a total of 500 million calls ever made and two billion minutes of international calls logged.

Company officials said that the new success was possible because of Rebtel’s dedication to core business values of transparency, honesty and cutting-edge innovation focused on helping people communicate internationally.

The VoIP provider has enjoyed great customer relations and a high degree of customer loyalty, with more than 96 percent of users recommending Rebtel to a friend during its customer satisfaction survey in December 2011.

Rebtel believes that the word of mouth recommendations are an integral part of its growth as it drives registrations and accounts for over two-thirds of new user registrations, officials said.

Andreas Bernström, CEO at Rebtel, said, “2011 was a great year for us. Our new set of international calling apps with KeepTalking technology was well received; we generated 13 times more downloads in Q4 than Q3 as a result of the launch.”

Bernström said that Rebtel has also expanded its workforce by almost 50 percent and increased its user base by 50 percent to 15 million users. 2012 will see more of the same as the company is focused on growing its user base as it looks to add up to 10 million customers this year.

The company recently partnered with San Diego, Calif., based provider of affordable wireless Internet access rental services to international business and leisure travelers, XCom Global, Inc. Under the partnership, Rebtel is going to provide XCom Global customers with an affordable option for placing international calls.

XCom Global’s high-speed Internet access rental service is available in over 60 countries including Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The service offers unlimited data usage and wireless roaming at fixed rates starting at $12.95/per day.
