StreamWIDE Benchmarks its Technology on Amazon Web Services

StreamWIDE's software has now become fully cloud compatible and by benchmarking its technology on Amazon Web Services (AWS), it will allow telecom operators to run high quality voice applications on it immediately, according to company officials.

Commenting on the move, Terry Wise, director of strategic partnerships at Amazon Web Services, said, "We are excited to see StreamWIDE offering their customers the opportunity to move voice applications to AWS. By moving to the cloud StreamWIDE is offering their customers a secure, high quality, pay as you go alternative to on-premise telecoms installations."

Fixed and mobile operators, according to company officials, can now move their voice services such as voicemail, call center applications or voice conferencing to AWS and StreamWIDE customers can start deploying their telephony services immediately using a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Amazon Machine Image.

The benefits that thus occur are reduced CAPEX, shortened time-to-market when compared to traditional on-premise deployments and overall savings.

"Telcos face an historic opportunity to revise their approach to voice services deployment. Thanks to cloud resources, it becomes possible to unbundle services from infrastructure and to generate dramatic savings in terms of CAPEX and time to market. We're proud to leverage Amazon Web Services' world leading cloud infrastructure to bring this revolution to the telecom market," said Pascal Beglin, CEO at StreamWIDE.

Although many data-based telecom services are continuing to migrate to the cloud, voice services have lagged behind because of technical difficulties. StreamWIDE stated that it has overcome this challenge by thoroughly testing and optimizing its software until the required quality level was reached.

In related news, StreamWIDE announced that the company’s solutions designed to revitalize an operator’s call completion product line was provided to the Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, a telecommunications provider in Russia and the CIS. The deal will initially address MTS subscribers with voicemail and missed call alert services and should extend to visual voicemail and other innovative services in the coming months.
