POS Portal and Ingenico Team Up to Introduce Telium Series POS Devices

Two innovators in credit card and mobile payments have come together to take the U.S. markets by storm. POS Portal is a provider for Point of Sale (POS) systems and Ingenico is a provider in payment devices and services; together they are introducing the Telium series POS devices for sale and distribution to its independent sales organizations.

With the growing dominance of EMV (EuroPay,Mastercard,Visa) chip-based contact and contactless payments in the U.S., these two giants came to the conclusion that it was in the best interest of both companies to launch the latest Telium 2 software into the U.S. markets. As per their new agreement, POS Portal will distribute Ingenico's countertop terminals, NFC (Near Field Communications)-ready mobile devices, and customer-facing terminals that are Class A certified and ready to securely accommodate all forms of payment including contactless, EMV, NFC mobile, and traditional magnetic stripe cards.

The U.S. market is familiar with the typical POS systems that many stores and restaurants use for credit card transactions, but there are many new forms of POS systems that Americans are not so familiar with today. Several of the new models of smartphones are equipped with NFC capabilities, which is a system that allows customers to create a “wallet” that money is deposited into and is the touched to a NFC compatible POS system and the transaction is deducted from your “wallet”. These smartphone wallets are predicted to replace change and become the pre-eminent method of payment over the next five years.

With developments from Google Wallet, Isis, POS Portal, Ingenico, and others, paying for items is getting easier and more seamless every day. This partnership between POS Portal and Ingenico is just another development that proves that 2012 is the year of revolutionized payment methods.
