Super Wi-Fi Summit, taking place at the Austin Convention Center in Austin TX, October 3-5, will feature telecommunications policy strategist Blair Levin with a keynote session on Air.U, the world’s largest White Spaces implementation to date.
This summit, which attracts numerous communications and technology companies, is collocated with ITEXPO, the world’s largest and best-attended communications and technology trade show sponsored by TMC.
In addition, Levin, former director of the FCC’s National Broadband Plan, founder and executive director of Gig.U, and Communications and Society Fellow at the Aspen Institute, will be joined by GigaOM editor Stacey Higginbotham in a keynote that will highlight how White Spaces provides an alternative use of spectrum and the ability to reach people more efficiently.
“Bringing next generation networks to educational communities and delivering a strategic bandwidth advantage to the United States is going to require new approaches,” Levin said. “That's what Gig.U and Air.U – two complimentary approaches – are bringing to the table.”The summit will discuss the following subjects:
- White Spaces Backhauling the Cache: What is the Opportunity?
- U.S. Roll out Report: Is Adoption Here?
- Standards Update: Using standards to drive White Spaces Innovation and Investment
- White Spaces and the TV Industry: Incentive Auctions & TV Broadband Service
- White Spaces: Base Stations and Edge – The Alpha Report
- The WISPs Perspective: Why WISPS like TVWS
- Sizing the Market Opportunity: Is this a win/win for both the Database Manager and the Device Maker?
“The Air U. implementation is accelerating the White Spaces movement from proof of concept to market opportunity,” said Carl Ford, cofounder of Crossfire Media and VP of content for Super Wi-Fi Summit. “We’re thrilled Blair and Stacey will be joining us in Austin and discussing the real White Spaces opportunity as a new wireless broadband solution.”
