Those who think that wireless Internet pricing is still way too high from big mobile providers like Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint have cause to be excited as Voyager Mobile officially made its service available to New York State residents on Tuesday. Offering unlimited wireless plans starting at only $17 per month, Voyager aims to bring affordable wireless service to the U.S., already offering service in a number of states.
At the same time, Voyager has also introduced 4G LTE service as part of its unlimited service, boasting download speeds of six to eight megabits per second — nearly twice the speed of Voyager's existing 4G WiMAX service.

With the inclusion of 4G LTE, the prepaid provider has also started offering a number of high-profile Android devices — such as the Samsung Galaxy S III, Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE, HTC EVO 4G LTE, and LG Viper 4G LTE — to take advantage of the new service. All phones are available contract free, meaning phones are bought outright with no subsidies.
Voyager Mobile's plans cater to three different demographics: those who only want basic voice service, those who talk and text and those who want data capabilities. As such, for unlimited talk, users pay only $17 per month. For only two dollars more, customers can tack on unlimited text as well. Lastly, unlimited talk, text and data – "Unlimited Everything" — costs only $39 per month.
Voyager Wireless launched earlier this year, in May. The network operator experienced some issues during its initial planned launch of May 15 due to a malicious network attack to its primary website. However, after a short postponement, the Voyager Wireless network launched successfully.
Initially, the prepaid provider only offered two plans: the unlimited talk and text plan and the unlimited everything plan. However, after listening to customer feedback, Voyager now offers its $17 unlimited talk plan.
