Russia Steps Ahead with Reliable Mobile Networks

Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) recently partnered with Russian network company, VimpelCom, to establish a reliable mobile network service in Russia. This joint effort will introduce a faster and more stable network in the area to meet demand and enhance network accessibility.

VimpelCom will support and avail a high-speed 3G mobile network service, which will serve as a Launchpad for introducing 4G LTE in the future.

The demand for a high-speed network in Russia is continually increasing, and VimpelCom is currently planning to expand its services to its neighboring countries, as well as Colombia and Spain. The company’s main intention is to use its cutting-edge technology to establish business plan services and mobile broadband.

Additionally, Alcatel intends to collaborate with ADV consulting to manage and maintain infrastructure in the area.

In related news, ALU plans to diversify revenue streams by entering emerging markets where telecom operators have not previously ventured. This is a strategic move to combat the company’s recent losses.

ALU is also planning to reduce its work force by 6 percent by the end of the year, which will be accompanied by other significant changes in the administration.

It’s rumored that the company will be split into four main units, which will cut down on administrative overhead as well. ALU’s goal is to focus more on its products while enhancing growth and increasing revenue. It is worth noting, however, that other telecom giants are facing similar challenges, and most have plans to lay off employees in the near future.
