NetAct Customers Finally Breathe a Sigh of Relief

Today, a reputable provider of multi-vendor configuration management and network automation software, Tail-f Systems, announced that its NCS software will be used in Nokia Siemens Networks NetAct, the vendor's network management system.

NetAct customers can overcome existing manual bottlenecks that prevent the optimization of mobile services with NCS' unique capability to provide multi-vendor management of third-party IP infrastructure.

To manage a wide variety of network equipment common in Service Providers' IP networks, such as Cisco and Juniper switches, Tail-f's NCS product is an innovative network abstraction layer that will be integrated into NetAct.

NCS allows services to be modeled and automatically translated into real-time, fine-grained configuration changes.

"Nokia Siemens Networks is executing its vision to deliver multi-vendor, multi-technology fulfillment," said Nancee Ruzicka, director, OSS/BSS Global Competitive Strategies at Stratecast, a Division of Frost & Sullivan. She added that the inclusion of Tail-f's NCS product into NetAct solves one of the major headaches of end-to-end fulfillment in mobile transport, which is the ability to rapidly create and execute automated configuration changes across multi-vendor network technologies without relying on manual processes.

Peter Patomella, head of the OSS Business Line at Nokia Siemens Networks, mentioned that based on the strength and easy scalability of the product, they decided to use Tail-f Systems' NCS software. Through one central interface, its model-driven software will enhance NetAct's ability to manage IP transport networks.

Fredrik Lundberg, CEO at Tail-f Systems, concluded that managing multiple, inflexible silos of infrastructure is preventing service providers from achieving business agility. Service providers are looking for unified multi-vendor management systems that can also leverage its existing IP networks.

Nokia Siemens Networks' NetAct is deployed throughout the world in over 400 service provider networks, and to further enhance NetAct's capabilities, Tail-f Systems is delighted to bring its expertise in multi-vendor network configuration management.
