ShoreTel Provides Business Communication Apps for iPad

ShoreTel is bringing even more unified communications to iPad devices, with the release of ShoreTel Mobility 6 and ShoreTel Conferencing. These two solutions are designed to help use iPads as business communications tools, helping people work from any location on their device of choice.

With the ShoreTEl Mobility 6, users can use a native iPad user interface for multi-modal communication. They can make calls from the same caller ID as a desk phone, send instant messages, and even create multi-party calls from the touchscreen.

As for the ShoreTel Conferencing for iOS, users can share presentations from their iPad or iPhone, and even view shared desktops from other devices and computers. It helps create an improved communication and collaboration experience, turning iOS devices into full business computers.

Together, the two applications provide iPads with business-grade communications and a full set of features. They can use the speakers or a Bluetooth headset to make calls like they would from anything else, while the VPN SSL encryption ensures security.

“The Apple iPad has quickly become the most popular tablet brought by users into the workplace,” said Peter Blackmore, CEO at ShoreTel. “ShoreTel transforms the iPad into a true multi-modal business communications device – for placing and receiving calls just like a desk phone, for sending and responding to instant messages, and for easily collaborating with other PC, Mac and iPad users. By combining these applications together in a manner that is brilliantly simple for employees to use, businesses can feel comfortable supporting a BYOD policy to drive effective communications and enhance productivity.”

iPads and iPhones are incredibly well-selling devices, so it’s only natural that they deserve applications to make them as useful as possible in a business environment. ShoreTel is helping with that, thanks to these applications, turning the iPad into a business device that’s easy to use.
