New Relic Helps Test and Troubleshoot Mobile Apps

New Relic Inc. is helping the mobile app industry succeed thanks to New Relic for Mobile Apps. This service helps any business by providing visibility into the performance of apps for Android and iOS devices, ensuring that it will be working at optimal efficiency for all customers.

With New Relic for Mobile Apps, developers can see exactly what their mobile users see, and can figure out what customers feel need improving and what works well. As the mobile app market is expected to reach over 89 billion downloads by 2015, it’s still difficult for app develoers and business managers to see how their apps are performing with customers. There are many points where failure is possible, so guesswork plays as much a role as trial and error.

Fortunately, New Relic aims to help with that. It’s offered as either a free service or as a monthly subscription, and is integrated with the New Relic Web app service, which is used by developers around the world. It uses a single screen view to monitor software –  whether it’s running on an app server, browser, or mobile device, making sure it can always be checked on.

"There are few transitions that are more game changing than the dynamic that is happening today with mobile devices and services,” explains Lew Cirne, founder and CEO of New Relic. “It's no secret that mobility is changing lifestyles and the way people do business. The expectation is high that these services and transactions will be responsive and fast. New Relic will provide the insight for mobile applications in the same simple approach that has been behind our success all along."

With the constant spread and growing popularity of mobile apps, it’s vital to ensure that they can run properly on user devices. Sure, rigorous testing is conducted before the apps are released to the general public (usually), but there are always unexpected issues that can arise or go unaccounted for. If New Relic can help find, solve, and prevent these problems, it can make the user experience all the better, which bodes well for everyone.
