NARR8's Mobile App Speaks Up for Korean, Spanish Market

Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, and Korean, though less prevalent, is a resounding tongue in much of Asia. The interactive digital content publisher, NARR8 is now taking that into consideration, and on Thursday announced that its mobile app will be made available in Korean and Spanish language versions over the next few months. Until now, the app has only been available in English and Russian.

The branching out into new linguistic territories is a substantial one for the company based in Moscow, Russia. NARR8 launched in fall of 2011 and has seen impressive success since. In November 2012, when it launched its app for iPad, NARR8 became the number one app in the free entertainment category, and earned ranking as the sixth most downloaded free app in iPad's top overall free list category.

Founder Alexander Vashchenko explains that the company chose the two languages as its top translation priorities in its effort to expand its global reach. Spanish, as one of the most common languages spoken around the world, is an obvious choice. NARR8 can gain following in a number of countries – and continents by offering its content in Spanish.

Selecting Korean as its first Asian language, was a more research-oriented process for NARR8. Vashchenko says, “Korea has shown fast growth and remarkable success in the Internet and mobile industry, as Korean users tend to adopt new technologies and products actively and quickly. This is why NARR8 is launching a Korean version of the app as its first step into Asia to secure a strong position for advancing into other Asian countries.”

These new language versions include six motion comics series – amounting to 35 episodes, and will be available for iPad, iPad mini, as well as Android smartphones and tablet. Thereafter, Spanish and Korean translations of the rest of NARR8's library will be debuted.
