Sony mobile has announced its 2013 lineup, including two new smartphones, the Xperia SP and Xperia L; both models include Sony's media, "WALKMAN," "Album" and "Movies" apps, which provide users a single access point to obtain or share their online/offline content with the one-touch feature.
The "WALKMAN" app is the place for users to downloaded music or surf through the 18+ million songs on Music Unlimited. The "Movies" app contains Video Unlimited with over 100,000 movies and TV series, while the "Album" function enables easy access to Facebook.
But there are significant differences between the models.
Xperia SP is “an exceptional viewing experience,” 4G LTE performance, a 4.6" HD Reality Display (HDR) for razor sharp pictures and brightness, a precision crafted aluminum frame, and a 8MP fast-capture camera with “Exmor RS” for mobile.
Some of the best features are the Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, which analyses and adjusts the user’s image automatically, adding new real-time contrast, sharpness, high-quality color management and noise reduction. Another cool feature is the notification light, which causes the frame to pulsate to music and notify callers by displaying different colors.
Xperia L is all about the “camera experience,” lightweight with a 4.3” HDR screen, 8MP fast-capture camera with Exmor RS for mobile, Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, and a dedicated camera key allowing the phone to go from sleep mode to snap in just over a second – even from a locked screen.
"Xperia SP and Xperia L are ideally suited for those seeking stylish class-leading smartphones that don't compromise on features," said Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications. "Both of our new models benefit from Sony's proven innovation and engineering expertise - whether you want to enjoy premium HD quality entertainment over 4G LTE on our mid-range Xperia SP or capture every moment in perfect detail with our more affordable Xperia L."
