Qatar Airways Expands Operations in Poland

Since it was first launched in 1997, Qatar Airways has achieved an impressive success rate with an average expansion of 30 percent growth year-to-year. The Airways has one of the most modern fleet aircrafts in the industry and is one of a handful of carriers that have been awarded a five-star rating by SkyTrax.

Operating from Doha in the capital of the State of Qatar, it is been expanding aggressively with new destinations and facilities around the world. Four months after adding Warsaw as one of its destinations, it is opening a new centralized European Customer Contact Center in the city of Wroclaw.

The company chose Wroclaw as the young demographic in this particular city has a high number of residents with multilingual skills – a key asset for a customer contact center. The center will be creating more than 100 new jobs to handle the customers in the European markets, which is a quarter of the company’s 125 destinations around the world.

The airline also upgraded the number of flights to Poland, from four a week to daily last month, since it began flying here in December of 2012 – making it the 32nd European destination.

"It's been an incredible few months for us in Poland with so much activity in such a short space of time that has included winning a few awards along the way for our successful operations in the country. Our new European Customer Contact Centre is designed to handle a range of customer services such as reservations, ticketing and other related enquiries,” said Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker.

The airline has key destinations in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Qatar Airways will be adding new scheduled flights to Chicago; Salalah, Oman; Chengdu, China; and other destinations to be announced at a later date.

Qatar Airways joined the Oneworld alliance late last year, increasing its presence of global coverage with some of the best airlines in the world. This alliance has 856 destinations in 159 countries served by a fleet of 2,600 aircrafts serving 342 million passengers annually.
