Together LocaLoop and Runcom Bring a Profitable Turn-Key 4G Platform to the Rural Market WISPs

In 1997 Dr. Zion Hadad founded Runcom Technologies Ltd., a leading edge broadband wireless hardware vendor, in Israel, and it provides the chipsets for the world’s first mobile broadband chip in South Korea.

Dr. Hadad invented and initiated development of the Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) technology for Runcom. He incorporated the OFDMA technology as a base line for broadcast return channel and the 4G technologies.

OFDMA is a multi-user version of the Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM). This is a method of encoding digital data on multiple carrier frequencies. OFDMA achieves multiple access by assigning subsets of subcarriers to individual users. This allows simultaneous low data rate transmission from several users.

LocaLoop Inc. is a company that has invented a technology that enables a business model that can cover less populated areas and be sustained as a profitable business. They have done this without the need for subsidies from the government or from larger cell phone carriers. They do not need subsidizing for their subscribers when they are traveling through rural areas.

LocaLoop’s technology is the first company to have all of its 4G business and network operations in the cloud, as well as the physical 4G network. This is due to the fact that it is Internet Protocol data only and does not need to relay on any incumbent wireline phone company’s switched network. LocaLoop’s technology can be overlaid on existing rural based Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) systems in a joint venture model that further reduces the cost of deployment without imposing on the core network of the carrier.

Today April 2, 2013 at the Wireless Internet Service Providers Association (WISPA) convention, this evening at 5:30pm to be exact, LocaLoop and Runcom will be presenting their unique solution to bring industry standard 4G, WiMAX, LTE mobile and wireless broadband Internet service to underserved rural markets.

The two companies have been working together since 2011. They combined LocaLoop’s patented cloud-based business platform with Runcom’s 4G WiMAX equipment. LocaLoop’s founder and CEO, Carl-Johan Torarp said, “We deliver a turn-key business solution, including marketing capability specifically designed for low-density markets, providing WISPs with a profitable platform not available before.”

Moshe Levinson, who is Runcom’s CEO followed that by saying, “LocaLoops software and Runcom’s hardware complement one another perfectly, delivering a powerful 4G business solution that we could not achieve individually.”

The two companies are working hard to make sure that not only will underserved rural markets have high-speed access, but at the same time keeping the cost down so that it is affordable.
