Evernote Delivers Free Premium Version for a Year to Deutsche Telekom Subscribers, Updated Android App

Evernote, an application that acts as an extension of its user’s memory, has announced that the premium version has been made free to Deutsche Telekom subscribers, as well as an update for the Android version.

Between now and September 25, German subscribers to either DT’s landline or mobile plans can get access to the premium version for free, which normally costs $45/year.

Subscribers who take advantage of the offer will get a free year of premium service. Those who have already purchased the premium version will also get a year free. The premium version offers increased storage space and the ability to access notebooks they’ve created offline.

Deutsche Telekom does business in the U.S. as T-Mobile. There’s no word on whether or not the offer will be extended to American subscribers.

Users can go to Evernote’s website or download the latest Android version and request the upgrade to the premium tier.

And speaking of Android, Evernote has also released a new version of its Android note-taking app to the Google Play store.

The new version features an improved camera and a cleaner interface.

“Photos help you remember moments as they happened, and now you’ll be able to capture lots and lots of moments without ever leaving the camera,” according to a blog post announcing the new version.

A new multi-shot feature allows users to capture multiple photos in one note, with the ability to delete an undesirable shot easily.

The Pager Camera lets users take pictures of documents easily; they just align the document with a rectangle, and Evernote will attempt to clean up the picture, yielding a perfect copy of a document.

For those who tire of digital notebooks, the new version has improved support for the Moleskine Smart Notebook. Users can snap photos of their notes and doodles, along with “smart stickers” and have them within Evernote, including the ability to search and tag their creations.

The new version also adds shortcuts for easy retrieval, document search for premium users and tag search for business users.
