SugarSync App Updates Cloud Storage Function

SugarSync, the iOS app that helps you sync your life, has just come out with an update packed with features. SugarSync works for iPhone, iPad, Andriod and Blackberry, and has updated its Cloud storage app to make it easier for you to get to and share information right from your mobile device.

Ever been to a meeting where someone needed an important document? SugarSync’s new Cloud search will decrease the time it takes you to find information quickly without holding up a meeting or having to get it later. It’s right there on your phone.

Power users of SugarSync often have a large amount of data in the cloud. SugarSync’s  new Cloud Search allows users to find what they’re looking for without searching through large and often deep folder directories.

The simplified User Interface (UI) enhances all these features by providing easy ways to share, access and use your information while it is in the cloud.

A key feature often overlooked on mobile device apps is an “Open In” capability, which allows you  to save files from other mobile apps directly to another. SugarSync has included this in the new offering.

Often while going about your day outside the office, you can get an e-mail with an attached document from your boss or a client, but you need to edit it elsewhere. Now you can open the app and move it to SugarSync, which then synchronizes the file to any folder on your desktop computer.

This program represents a unique practice in mobile cloud computing, since most offerings only sync to specific folders on the desktop. SugarSync offers a free 5GB service plan, and paid services from there going to 60GB.

"With our ever-increasing mobile jobs and lifestyles, we not only recognize the importance of enabling people to access all of their data anytime, anywhere, but also how we can make it easier for people to be more productive when they're on the go," said SugarSync CEO, Mike Grossman. "We've kept the same powerful features our users have come to rely on in the original iOS app and enhanced this version with some highly requested new features such as Cloud Search and ‘Open In’ functionality."
