Survey: iPhone Users Might Switch to Samsung with Galaxy S4 Release

A new report from Avanti revealed that Chinese consumers are anxiously waiting for the new Galaxy S4 release by following its latest development news in hopes of purchasing the device once available. The results also showed that a majority of consumers would be willing to switch devices they currently own for the new Galaxy S4.

Avanti, a research division of TrendForce, completed a study called, “Samsung Galaxy S4 China Market Report,” to determine the Chinese market’s interested in the new device. There is so much hype behind the new phone that more than half of the people surveyed admitted they would consider switching from their iPhone to Samsung.

This could be due to the capabilities of the new device. The mobile phone is said to have a five-inch screen size, full HD resolution and a better gaming experience due to features such as Touch Wiz, Air Gestures and Smart Scroll. On the specifications side, the phone is said to be shipping with either a Snapdragon 600 processor or Exynos processor, which will make the phone extremely fast.

Due to the new gaming possibilities and the fact that the operating system is said to be lighten fast and user-friendly, TrendForce found that both men and women are interested in the new device, with the target audient either male or over the age of 30.

TrendForce said regardless of how you break down the numbers of who is interested in the phone, the biggest result from the survey is the amount of people who would be willing to switch phone providers. “The fact that more than 50 percent of the surveyed iPhone users are thinking about switching to the S4 should be a concern for Apple, whose China market share is only 9.6 percent,” said TrendForce.

“In the event that the Cupertino company is unable to come up with something remarkably unique or innovative following the SIV’s release, the gap between Apple and Samsung will likely continue to widen.”
