Precise Biometrics Develops Tactivo Mini for Android Users

Precise Biometrics has expanded its smart card and fingerprint reader, Tactivo, by developing a new device that is compatible with Android technology. The new product called Tactivo Mini will bring the Precise Biometrics technology to governmental and enterprise markets.

Precise Biometrics has been offering clients secure and accurate smart card and fingerprint recognition technology since 1997. The Sweden-based company has been working on making its products more secure and safe every year.

Currently, the company offers mobile device security, desktop readers, desktop toolkits, embossed solutions, and match-on-card, which stores fingerprints on a smart card chip. They also have special products set aside for government workers such as access to National ID and desktop logical access.

As security remains a top priority, it’s no surprise that more than 160 million people have licensed Precise Biometrics’ technology. The only problem was that the Tactivo was only compatible with iOS-based products and solutions, aka the iPhone and all Apple products. This limited the company and its customers extensively.

The new device addresses the concerns of its customers by allowing the government market to “maximize current PKI solutions” and allow consumers to transfer between using the device and using their mobile and/or desktop technology a lot easier.

“We have continued to receive positive feedback for our new offering from a number of selected partners who received it in Beta, and we look forward to the expanded market potential this new solution will bring for Precise Biometrics going forward, as we are now able to cover over 90 percent of the smartphones and tablets in our target segments,” said CEO and president of Precise Biometrics, Thomas Marschall.

“We are excited to announce our most recent product expansion as well as our new capabilities specifically targeting the global Android space,” he added.
