iOS 7 Beta 5 Gets Released, Features Apple TV Seed

It feels like it's been ages since Apple unveiled iOS 7, but it's really only been a few months. Initially, reactions were mixed over the flat tiled look of the OS, but considering the drastic and unprecedented changes introduced, that was to be expected. Since then, the iOS 7 Beta has been available and new features are being discovered with each new release.

For example, in June, new Apple TV features were found hidden in the OS. Now, with the release of iOS 7 Beta 5, there have been a few more new upgrades introduced.

To start with, iOS 7 Beta 5 includes even more Apple TV focus with the addition of a seed for the media platform. Not only does this further reinforce speculation that Apple will be placing greater emphasis on its Apple TV offering, but on media in general. What this really means is even greater emphasis on the Apple ecosystem.

It's not surprising to see Apple lean into this selling point. After all, with Android now consistently dominating the mobile market, the company needs to identify what differentiates the iPhone from other mobile devices and capitalize on it. So far everything in iOS 7 suggests that this will absolutely be the case with the upcoming iPhone 5S.

Other updates found in iOS 7 Beta 5 largely relate to subclassing in the AddressBookUI framework.

Speaking of the iPhone 5S, ValueWalk suggests that its release, as well as that of the release version of iOS 7, is just weeks away. Indeed, a September release would be almost exactly one year after that of the iPhone 5. The specific launch date is rumored to be around September 9.

If that is the case, it's possible we'll see one more iOS 7 Beta release hit later this month before the final release becomes available.
