Software Recovers Deleted or Lost Content from iOS, Android Devices

Most smartphone users have admitted at some point that their phone might be smarter than they are. At no point is this truer than when users accidentally delete their photos, contacts or messages, sometimes without even realizing what happened. And if your smartphone gets lost or stolen or, heaven forbid, it breaks, well, then you really understand how important your data actually was.

Wondershare’s Dr.Fone is designed for content recovery after accidental deletion or a phone catastrophe. The software is available for both iOS and Android devices. The company reports it can recover as many as 15 types of content from iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch devices; including items deleted from the camera roll, photo stream, photo library, contacts, MMS and SMS messages and attachments, call history, calendar, notes, reminders, voice memos and Safari bookmarks. Dr.Fone can recover as many as six types of content from Android phones & tablets.

The recovery process is simple. Users connect the device to the computer, launch the Dr.Fone application, scan their mobile phone to see what information is recoverable and then restore it. For iPhones, Dr.Fone can also recover information from the latest iTunes backup file when data cannot be recovered directly from the device.

The latest version of Dr.Fone for Mac includes support for recovering voicemails, conversations and attachments from the popular Whatsapp cross-platform mobile messaging app. Dr.Fone Android version 3 for Windows now supports newer Samsung and HTC devices, as well as newer Android releases and enhancements to recoverable content types.

Dr.Fone Android v3 Windows is currently available for $49.95 from the Wondershare online store. Dr.Fone iOS v3 Mac, meanwhile, is currently available from the Wondershare online store for $99.95. There are free demo versions available, which can scan a mobile phone and preview recoverable content, but the free version will not restore the recoverable files unless you upgrade to the paid version.
