XG Technology Readies xMax for the Market

xG Technology, Inc. is a manufacturer of wireless network technology and its related equipment. Headquartered in the city of Sarasota in Florida, xG has a portfolio of patented technology that makes networks more intelligent and accessible. With more than 140 U.S. and international patents, xG Technology licenses its products to companies operating around the world.

Out of the many products developed by xG, its flagship product is a cognitive radio technology called xMax. This is a patented product that makes it possible for users to share the same spectrum. It uses the 902-928 MHz spectrum, which is license-free and easy to share. Xmax is a wireless system that connects modems, base stations, handsets, mobile switching centers (MSCs), wireless hotspots and performance access points. Besides, it is also used to deliver mobile VoIP for supporting devices. It is based on the Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure and offers excellent quality of data transmission with a low latency rate.

A salient aspect of xMax is that it uses the air waveform in an unlicensed spectrum to deliver Wi-Fi capabilities for a range of devices like smartphones, laptops and tablets. This is where it is different from other wireless technologies like LTE as the others operate in the shared bands that are also prone to a lot of interference.

Recently, the company announced that it has completed the production run of xMax. It was used to validate the circuit board assemblies of different vendors and suppliers. The company has further said that it has extensively tested the product across all phases of development and it is now ready for sales demonstrations.

This cognitive radio network is expected to be a breakthrough in the world of wireless communications. It is hoped that this technology will pave the way for new technological advancements in the future.
