Good Technology, a producer of secure mobility solutions, has announced findings from the Good Mobility Index Report for Q2 and Q3 2013. The report includes data on the adoption of enterprise applications. It also covers device activations and leveraging insights from the company’s customer base using the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform.
According to the report total activations for the quarter were up 60 percent from the same time last year. Good Technology also announced 1000 custom applications.
A recent survey of 5,000 enterprise users of Good Technology mobile security platform showed an impressive 42 percent quarterly jump in the number of mobile app activations.
Apple's iOS led all operating systems as enterprise activations grew 30 percent during the third quarter, followed by Google's Android at 27 percent. Apple's iPad was dominant in the enterprise tablet market, making up 90 percent of total tablet activations in the third quarter.
The Good survey reveals that there is an explosion in mobile app activations happening across the spectrum of devices and operating systems.
The report shows that 56 percent of total activations come from document editing a jump of 42 percent from the previous quarter. File access and sharing took second place with a 20 percent of all enterprise mobile app activations.
The Good report also shows that while tablets rule, they do take a back seat to smartphones for messaging and other uses.
The Good research shows professional services with the highest quarterly increase in share of mobile device activations, rose 9 percent. Tablets are the most popular device for mobile enterprise app usage.
