Unisys Corporation Intros Mobile Environment Management (MEM) 2.0

The new Mobile Environment Management (MEM) 2.0 from Unisys can enable chief information officers (CIOs) to efficiently monitor and secure mobile technologies and resources utilized within the organization.

Larry Dunn, vice president of solution portfolio management at Unisys Global Managed Services, remarked, “Mobile device management and other point solutions alone can’t help CIOs tame the management challenges of widespread mobility. Clients tell us they need a mobile services solution that addresses a full range of technology and business issues – from business process redesign through application management to expense management. Unisys Mobile Environment Management services provide a comprehensive suite of managed mobility services that meets that need.”

Unisys exclaimed that it offers a comprehensive suite of mobility solutions that address mobility needs from the perspective of business processes, infrastructure, applications and the end-users.

Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Application Management (MAM), Mobile Content Management (MCM), Telecom Expense Management and Mobile End-User Support are some the services that comprise the MEM 2.0. They are available as a suite or delivered as standalone services.

The new MEM 2.0 supposedly leverages the aforementioned mobility services to equip IT organizations with a standard framework for managing and supporting mobile users and resources and at the same time ensure corporate assets safety and bring down service delivery costs.

The latest version is equipped with the necessary features to improve the mobile device management solution’s capability to better manage policies for clients’ Android, Windows 8 and Windows RT devices along with iOS and BlackBerry devices.

Based on their requirements, clients can avail the MEM 2.0 either as multi-tenant or dedicated cloud, or as an on-premise option.

Unisys added that one of the key components of the MEM 2.0 is its MyWork Services, a suite of end-users services designed to help organizations create flexible, efficient and highly responsive end user environments for enhancing user productivity and at the same not compromise on security, compliance or control.
