Plantronics Voyager Edge Bluetooth Headset Utilizes the Power of Bluetooth 4.0 among Other Innovations

Wearable technology has seen big leaps in the last few years as more and more companies are coming up with simple wearable devices with powerful features. Even ordinary devices like watches and headsets are being transformed into smart devices.

One such bluetooth headset that has been getting attention is Plantronics's Voyager Edge. This product uses Bluetooth 4.0, which is more powerful in terms of signal reception and is more battery-friendly when compared to the previous versions. The design of the headset is also conducive to make the best use of the better signal reception. The design starts with a diamond head at the top and has a long 1.8” body. It comes with three microphones out of which two are located on either side of the headset's body while the third one is at the center, close to the speaker's mouth. On the back side, there is a power slider that shows the remaining power, a USB port for charging and volume buttons to adjust the volume. Close to the third microphone is a command button that helps to automatically answer calls when the bluetooth is placed on the ear. Another option is to answer the call is to simply say “answer” after the caller's name has been announced. This is one of the interesting features of this product.

Another useful feature is the ability to cancel outside noise. When the headset is worn, it cancels outside noise and wind to give clear communication to the speakers. Also, it can even adjust volume automatically depending on the noise levels.

These features make Voyager Edge a truly smart bluetooth device. In recognition of its usefulness, Plantronics, the maker of Voyager Edge, bagged the Innovation Design Award at the World Mobile Congress for the 13 innovations that made Voyager Edge a unique product in the market today.

It is hoped that more such innovative products are developed to make life easy for consumers.
