Roam Adds Mobility SIM Cards to Simply Computing Stores

Roam Mobility SIM cards for iPhone and iPad are now available at Simply Computing Stores across Canada. There are currently eight stores across the country. Roam Mobility’s SIM cards allow for easy roaming across the US border, which the company says work seamlessly with your device to continue talking, texting and accessing data after you hit the States; Roam charges “as little as $2.95 per day” for this service.

“Apple users love their devices, and they don’t want to turn them off or leave them behind when they travel across the border," says Emir Aboulhosn, CEO and founder of Roam Mobility on the benefits of using the cards for your travels.

Roam Mobility says that users can avoid roaming rates by using its rechargeable SIM cards while also enjoying “unthrottled” high-speed connections across the US, whether this is for talk and text along with data, or just data on its own. The cards cover travel times of one day to 30 days.

The company has also added a special “Snowbird Plan” for Canadians traveling to the US for three months or more.

“We’re always looking for new and innovative products that allow our customers to get more out of their Apple devices,” added VP of Sales and Service, Simply Computing, Troy Vierus on partnering with Roam.

“Roam Mobility SIM cards are the perfect addition to our product line because they help our iPhone and iPad users stay connected and productive when they travel to the US for business or pleasure,” he said.

Roaming charges between countries continue to be at the receiving end of much criticism from mobile network customers.

Some companies have tried to address this. Canadian network Bell works with partner networks in the US so that when a customer travels to the States they will connect with a partner network or customers can use pay-per-use rates to only pay for single functions that you can keep tabs on while travelling.
