Good Technology Delivers Support for iOS 8

So far, the launch of the new iPhone as well as iOS 8 has been a resounding success, with customers around the world waiting for days to get the phones and developers looking to create new applications that can take advantage of the new hardware and operating system. As the days, weeks and months pass, developers will be creating innovative applications for Apple users using iOS 8. Good Technology, provider of mobile security, announced all of its enterprise mobility management (EMM) suites are iOS 8 ready.

The company stated it is the first secure mobility provider to deliver enterprise collaboration and productivity for iOS8. Customers that use the company's platform will be able to upgrade to iOS 8 without any disruption in service, exposure of data or compromised security the same way they did for the iOS 7 last year.

The iOS 8 support is available for the entire set of applications the company provides, which includes the recently announced Good secure mobile collaboration app, Good for Enterprise, Good Access, Good Connect, Good Share, Good for Salesforce1, Good Pro, as well as the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform. This includes support for new iOS8 mobile device management (MDM) capabilities and more than 1,300 custom apps built on the company's platform.

The iOS8 has added new security, productivity and device management features to increase the adoption of Apple devices in enterprise settings. Although mobile operating system adoption by businesses varies greatly around the world, the Android platform enjoys a considerable lead because of its global dominance. But as Aragon Research Founder and CEO Jim Lundy said, “What’s needed is a single solution that provides IT with the ability to consistently secure business apps and data on corporate liable and personal devices, across all OS platforms, but without necessarily requiring management of the device or forcing users to give up their privacy.”

Good Technology delivers a consistent user and IT experience across all platforms, including iOS 8, Android and Windows, which effectively lowers IT costs by allowing IT departments to protect applications and data regardless of device ownership. The latest iOS8 updates can be integrated easily to support the latest iOS 8 MDM capabilities, such as new restrictions, the new device enrollment process, managed domains and always-on VPN. The company makes the shift to the new operating system transparent without requiring server upgrade, and with most end-user devices configured for auto-update of their apps.

“Changes in enterprise mobility shouldn’t increase business costs, impact user productivity or compromise on security,” said Christy Wyatt, chairman and chief executive officer at Good Technology. “Our immediate support for iOS 8 across the Good product portfolio and our ISV ecosystem allows customers to seamlessly upgrade and ensure mobile business continuity, while reducing IT costs.”

The company has published a comprehensive set of resources to help IT organizations understand the changes coming with iOS 8 available on blogs and webinars.
