Adobe has rolled out a variety of new applications and cloud offerings this week, including the latest release of its Creative Cloud suite. The updated offering features a new Creative Profile solution that connects users to files, tools and other assets no matter where they may be stored, as well as powerful mobility features.
The updates are part of a move toward a device-to-device approach, providing new connections between desktop tools and mobile apps. That essentially enables Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Lightroom to be accessed through a smartphone or tablet. Picture editing may be accomplished via mobile devices using Photoshop Sketch, Photoshop Mix and Lightrooom Mobile, while video may be edited using Adobe Premier Clip. Creative Cloud also provides access to Illustrator Draw and Illustrator Line.
Additional apps compatible with the mobile suite include Brush, Shape and Color, and Adobe has also announced Adobe Premiere Clip, a video editing app for the iPad. Premiere Clip is also available through Adobe Premiere Pro CC for more advanced video editing.
"The pace of innovation continues to accelerate with Creative Cloud," said David Wadhwani, senior vice president of Digital Media at Adobe. "New capabilities such as Creative Talent Search show that Creative Cloud is evolving into an increasingly powerful resource for our millions of members."
Other new offerings include a beta of Creative SDK for development of new third-party mobile apps connected to Creative Cloud. Adobe also made its Creative Cloud Market, Creative Cloud Libraries and Creative Cloud Extract offerings available for free. All updates are available to Creative Cloud members for no additional charge, while new and updated mobile apps are free to everyone.
