Landlines Go Mobile with Voice Bridge

Swissvoice has announced that Voice Bridge will be available in the U.S.

Swissvoice has designed the Voice Bridge to transform smartphones into fixed phones that can handle both landline and cellular network calls, essentially giving the user what can be considered to be the best of both worlds. While there have been some products in the past designed to turn your smartphone into a landline, Voice Bridge goes in the opposite direction.

Voice Bridge brings the old-school landline to the smartphone, tablet or any mobile device; in fact you can have up to five different devices capable of making and answering you landline calls. In addition to calls, one of the conveniences of the Voice Bridge is the fact that you will have access to your address book.

Smartphones have the capability to maintain large and updated contact lists, so there will be no need to selectively limit or program names and numbers the way you have to with standard cordless telephones. These are features that make the box very useful for homes as well as small offices/ home offices (SOHOs).

Another feature that makes this the best of both worlds is the fact that Voice Bridge plugs into both a landline and an Ethernet port on a Wi-Fi router. If you have cellular dead zones in your building, a Wi-Fi connected smartphone can communicate with the Voice Bridge to send and receive calls through the landline.

Some of the other features of the Voice Bridge include the following;

  • Allows you to use any iOS device with a regular landline handset
  • Uses your existing fixed line number with your smartphone and tablets
  • Will send instant notifications to your smartphone of any incoming calls on your landline, known as “Follow Me”
  • Connects up to five smartphones and/or tablets at the same time
  • Allows you to make calls with your mobile when there is a bad cellular connection
  • Allows intercom calls between two smartphones or tablets free of charge
  • Keeps you notified of new events on your landline with "Follow Me" feature (incoming calls and messages received) when you are away from home
  • Fully integrates your smartphone address book
  • Compatible with iOS7+ devices. Android will follow by end of September 2015

The Swissvoice Voice Bridge is currently available through Amazon for $99. The iOS app is also available now and is compatible with all devices running iOS7 or higher. Swissvoice expects to have an Android app ready to launch sometime near the end of September.
