Every Second Counts in Mobile Latency

The need for increased connection speeds in a mobile era has given service providers a challenge in providing the best for the least amount of money. Service providers need to compete by offering more attractive packages to their end users, both on the enterprise and consumer level, that allow for greater bandwidth while never compromising download and upload speeds.

These days, our reliance on smartphones and tablets has our devices hogging up mobile networks; while it might be easy to blame the device itself, the fact of the matter is carriers are scrambling to meet the demands of capacity.

Consider the statistics:

According to Cisco’s Visual Networking Index, Global mobile data traffic grew 69 percent in 2014, and mobile network connection speeds grew 20 percent in 2014. While we are seeing an increase in traffic overall and speeds are increasing, providers, OEMs, CDNs and enterprise access providers rely on companies like Badu Networks to bring the demanding speeds in the here and now.

Latency has a ripple effect from the developer to the end user. For example, a mobile app’s performance is affected by slower speeds, compromising mission critical information necessary for success.

While many devices come with built-in tools to optimize performance, Badu Networks’ transparent solution requires no additional apps, no required downloads, and no special APIs. BADU works with OEMs to boost mobile performance without any steps taken on behalf of the user.

Here’s a typical scenario where latency has a negative effect on users from an IT standpoint: imagine having hundreds or even thousands of devices configured differently, causing a management headache, where failure in any one device can lead to considerable decrease in efficiency. Even small issues can make regular use of mobile devices tiring to the point where users’ productivity is negatively impacted.

Badu Networks speaks to the modern day latency challenge. Hear what Monika Gumpta had to say about how Badu is helping OEMs, CDNs, and providers to combat mobile latency at this year’s ITEXPO Anaheim:
