Vodafone Netherlands Deploys IBM MobileFirst

Vodafone Netherlands has entered into a collaborative partnership with IBM under which it will offer IBM MobileFirst solutions to Vodafone enterprise clients. The MobileFirst portfolio helps clients further their business through the delivery of services that allow clients to fully exploit mobile capabilities. In particular, MobileFirst solutions—which include infrastructure, apps and services—allow business clients to create mobile solutions that can reach new markets, while improving customer engagement.

IBM launched MobileFirst in 2013. Earlier this year, the company launched new services for Bluemix, an implementation of IBM’s Open Cloud Architecture based on Cloud Foundry. These new services give developers the ability to create analytics-driven cloud applications.

"IBM MobileFirst enables enterprises to radically streamline and accelerate mobile adoption, and help organizations engage more people and capture new markets," said Bob Fox, global telecommunications industry leader, IBM. "By offering IBM MobileFirst services, Vodafone will help its business customers mobilize people and processes in a way that drives competitive advantage."

Vodafone plans to extend the Vodafone Ready Business suite—which features communications solutions designed to help business become more flexible, innovative, collaborative and responsive to customers and employees—with MobileFirst. As such, MobileFirst is an excellent fit for Vodafone Netherlands, as the collaboration will help further drive mobile adoption among enterprise organizations in the Netherlands.

As part of this collaboration, Vodafone has begun mobilizing its own workforce with MobileFirst and an enterprise app designed to help employees better serve clients.

“In collaborating with IBM, we are drawing on the enterprise expertise of both companies, combining Vodafone's strengths in enterprise mobility management and 4G connectivity with IBM's industry, mobile and integration knowledge,” said Alexander Saul, director of the Enterprise Business Unit at Vodafone Netherlands. “Together, we are empowering our enterprise clients with enhanced mobile capabilities that simplify business processes, increase employee productivity, enable deeper customer engagement and drive overall growth.”
