LightSquared, EarthComm Solutions Ink Multi-Year Wholesale Agreement

LightSquared, a wholesale-only integrated 4G-LTE wireless broadband and satellite network, and EarthComm Solutions announced that they have entered into a multi-year wholesale agreement.

In a release, Russell McNorton, chief executive officer of EarthComm Solutions stated, “At EarthComm Solutions, our mission is to provide the most affordable and advanced communications services available in the market to our customers. With LightSquared, we have found a superb wholesale 4G-LTE network provider and we are very excited to enter this partnership.”

Texas-based Earthcomm a communications service provider for businesses and consumers will become a wholesale customer on LightSquared’s 4G-LTE network. It will now be able to offer high-speed mobile data, voice and satellite services to its existing customers and to new customers via a vast network of distribution channels in small and mid-sized cities in southwest United States.

Sanjiv Ahuja, chairman and chief executive officer of LightSquared pointed out that EarthComm Solutions as a well known service provider will benefit from LightSquared’s 4G-LTE wholesale network service to enable their innovative mobile broadband offerings.

“With this agreement, LightSquared is continuing to foster competition and innovation while enabling EarthComm Solutions to deliver competitive wireless offerings through its established distribution network,” Ahuja added.

LightSquared strives to serve the U.S. wireless industry optimally. The wholesale-only nationwide 4G-LTE network integrated with satellite coverage helps LightSquared to offer subscribers the speed, value and reliability of universal connectivity across the United States.

In its capacity as a wholesale-only operator, LightSquared will deploy an open 4G wireless broadband network for the use of both existing and new service providers to sell their own devices, applications and services. They need not be bothered about cost and the retail competition from LightSquared, added officials.

In related company news LightSquared and ClearTalk Wireless, a provider of flat-rate wireless phone services in the Southwest and West of the U.S, have entered into a 4G bilateral roaming agreement. This agreement will provide ClearTalk with a nationwide 4G-LTE network that will enable the company to offer broadband services to their customers.

Also LightSquared’s integrated satellite network will provide connectivity in rural communities in states served by ClearTalk, including Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, according to a MobilityTechzone report.
