RWE and Verizon Managed Network Service Solution to Drive Energy Exchange

RWE IT GmbH, the IT supplier within RWE AG, and Verizon a provider of communication, IT security and network solutions, will provide an international network organization for its customers across the RWE Group.

RWE IT provides dedicated information technology services to the RWE AG group of companies. The company operates in six countries across Europe.

According to the five-year agreement, Verizon and RWE IT GmbH will provide a fully managed, end-to-end global communications service like managed wide area network, local area network, Internet, voice and security solutions.

The agreement will cover RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, RWE's energy trading house, and the RWE Group's commodities trading hub. The Verizon solution will take care of the infrastructure, with service-level agreements supporting network performance and secure connectivity between its global trading floors.
