Verizon Wireless Announces the Availability of Pantech Breakout

Verizon Wireless and Personal Communications Devices announced that the Pantech Breakout smartphones will be exclusively available in Verizon Wireless Communications stores and online at verizonwireless.com beginning September 22.

The new smart phone enables customers to have access to custom Pantech widgets and share media files between Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-enabled devices by using the Net Media app on their Pantech Breakout.

Moreover, utilizing Verizon’s 4G networks, customers can expect download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G mobile broadband coverage areas.

Pantech Breakout is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It has 1 GHz processor, 4-inch capacitive touch display (480 x 800), and support for Google mobile services including Gmail, YouTube, Google Search and Google Maps, as well as access to more than 250,000 apps available for download from Android Market.

The smart phone offers 4G LTE mobile hotspot supporting up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices. It has virtual QWERTY keyboard featuring SWYPE technology for easy typing of messages and e-mails. The 5-megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera has HD video capture capability up to 720p, according to a company statement.

Customers that purchase a Pantech Breakout smartphone will have to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan beginning at $39.99 for monthly access and a smartphone data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.

Recently, the Alliance for Workplace Excellence honored Verizon Wireless for the ninth consecutive year for the various employee benefits provided by the company. These benefits include on-site mammograms, Pilates for Pregnancy classes and tuition reimbursement.

The Alliance for Workplace Excellence is a non-profit group that supports the pursuit of workplace excellence with training and education, awards of recognition and community awareness.
