Motorola Mobility Launches Enhanced DROID XYBOARD Tablets on The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network

In a bid to offer an enhanced experience to users, smartphone developers have been introducing new features that leverage the maximum potential of the latest 4G wireless networks.

In line with this, Motorola Mobility announced that in collaboration with Verizon it is launching two new products under its DROID tablet series.

Known as the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 and DROID XYBOARD 8.2, both the new tablet devices enable users to stay connected, productive and entertained in a number of ways. Another product is DROID RAZR, a new offering by Motorola being introduced in flashy white color. These three products will be soon upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

Powered by dual core 1.2 GHz processors, the DROID XYBOARD tablets feature 1 GB of RAM and can be used to remotely access any non DRM-protected music, pictures, videos and documents stored on work or home computers through MotoCast and the 4G LTE network of Verizon Wireless. The scratch resistant displays of these tablet devices feature Corning Gorilla Glass and an extra coating of water-repellent nanoparticles, to safeguard them against any sort of external moisture.

Featuring considerably light weight, the DROID XYBOARD tablets run upon Android 3.2 Honeycomb platform and feature magnesium-reinforced bodies with aluminum housing and portable form-factors. A range of business related software applications such as enterprise-grade security and apps such as Quickoffice HD for document editing and creation, Citrix GoToMeeting for productivity and collaboration and Google Talk for video conferencing have been included within both the tablet devices.

The DROID XYBOARD 10.1 is available in three models, out of which the 16 GB model costs $529.99, 32 GB model is available at $629.99 while the price of the 64 GB model is $729.99. Similarly, the DROID XYBOARD 8.2 is being introduced in two models. The 16 GB model costs $429.99 while the 32 GB model is priced at $529.99 both. All the new tablet devices are being provided a new two-year customer agreement.

Last month, Motorola Mobility announced its new health device named MOTOACTV. The device is an integrated lightweight, wearable fitness performance tracker and smart music player, which provides the user with the experience of having a professional fitness instructor and his favorite DJ helping him train at all times.
