iscoord Unveils is-Phone Mobile Calling App for Android Devices

Zurich-based company iscoord, a provider of Unified communications (UC) software clients, announced the official release of its is-phone app for Android devices. This new application will allow residential and corporate users to make mobile video and voice calls on selected Android smartphones or tablets over both 3G/4G or Wi-Fi networks.

The new is-phone Mobile 3.0 – Android edition is designed to run on Android devices version 2.3 or higher, said officials.

In a release Roger Schneider, chief executive officer (CEO), iscoord said, “Our customers and partners are looking for an easy unified communications solution – and iscoord offers a wide range of UC softphone clients that simplify communications for on-the-go and remote users by extending the features of a desk phone to a range of smartphones and tablets.”

According to company sources this new app, is-phone Mobile 3.0, is an Android edition from iscoord. It is expected to help users make high-quality video calls with any remote parties by leveraging their open-standards video hard phones or softphones. This includes devices  available in the market, including iscoord video solutions for both desktop and mobile.

Also, the is-phone Mobile 3.0 - Android edition application features an intuitive graphical interface and it enables the easy handling of three concurrent calls or organizing 3-way audio conferences.

Officials said that like other is-phone applications, is-phone Mobile Android edition is a carrier grade application that is interoperable with major IP PBX, softswitch and IMS platforms. Besides it also features mechanisms to optimize security.

Christophe Remillet, head of business development at iscoord added, “We are all excited about introducing the first video application based on open-standards in the Android’s market. In fact, we already have customers who have launched video services on mobile to the residential and corporate markets. This confirms iscoord’s video expertise and experience on both desktop and mobile, which is unique in the UC market today.”

iscoord announced in April 2011 that it is-phone UC softphone portfolio has successfully completed interoperability testing with BroadSoft’s BroadWork platform. The completion of BroadSoft’s interoperability program provides mobile network operators with the knowledge that testing has been performed between the device and the services in the network.
