4G LTE AirLink Intelligent Gateway from Sierra Wireless Ready to Operate Over 4G LTE Mobile Broadband Network

Sierra Wireless, provider of mobile computing and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications products and solutions for connecting devices and applications over cellular networks, announced that its AirLink GX440 4G LTE rugged wireless gateway has been certified by Verizon Wireless, provider of broadband and other wireless and wireline communications services, to operate over the Verizon mobile 4G LTE network.

AirLink GX440 has been designed to provide increased bandwidth critical to applications such as advanced wireless video surveillance and mobile office applications functioning within public safety and field services zones among other such activities.

The AirLink GX Series, delivered a wide range of capabilities to the AirLink line, to offers customers five-fold increase in the performance of processors, enhanced ruggedness as well as hosted remote management functionalities with the AirLink Management Services, in addition to providing new avenues for including hardware feature enhancements. 

The Sierra Wireless AirLink GX Series of Intelligent Gateways are a robust offering capable of addressing application needs within transportation sector as well as in the industrial machine-to-machine (M2M) and enterprise sectors.

Customers leveraging the Sierra Wireless AirLink GX Series benefit from faster solution deployment, simple and cost-effective mobile network operators, OEMs, as well as application service providers and end customers. Furthermore system integrators leveraging the series are able to standardize over a single gateway platform to address the needs of their customers in a combined manner.

The AirLink Intelligent Gateway which is based on the company's AirVantage M2M Cloud Platform, comes with a rugged hardware design which can address both industry and wireless requirements such as Mil-STD 810-F, IEC60068, IP64, Class 1 Div 2, and e-Mark and features the ARM 11-class microprocessor with high-capacity DDR memory which delivers faster processing performance.

It also delivers security protocol support to ensure integration in IPsec-compliant VPNs as well as PCI-compliant solutions. The ALEOS embedded intelligence capability offers a configurable platform in addition to remote management capabilities supporting over-the-air firmware upgrades among other capabilities. Furthermore, cloud-based remote management can be used for the GX Series for managing existing AirLink 2G and 3G devices which makes integration and deployment into existing systems easy.
