SMARTROVE LLC Selects Quantenna's 802.11n MIMO Chipset

Quantenna Communications, a provider of solutions for ultra-reliable Wi-Fi networking, announced that its 802.11n MIMO chipset is going to be deployed in SMARTROVE’s carrier-grade 3G/4G offload applications to transport critical police video surveillance traffic in Hamilton City, Bermuda.

According to Quantenna, its QHS710 chipset enables SMARTROVE's SR1410 wireless LAN solution to deliver multiple high-definition (HD) video streams over long haul mesh networks at very low packet error rates (PER).

The Quantenna QHS710 is claimed to be the world’s first chipset with 4x4 MIMO, dynamic digital beamforming, and support for 4 spatial streams with unequal modulation. The solution enables gateways, routers, video bridges and other products to transmit concurrent multiple 1080p-resolution high-definition (HD) video streams and standard-definition (SD) streams to multiple televisions, with whole-home coverage, over a single wireless home network.

The chipset enables applications such as high-definition video content delivery to wireless HDTVs, wireless routers, wireless video bridges for Set-top Boxes (STB), HDTVs with integrated video decoders, residential gateways (cable, fiber, xDSL), media servers and Home Network Storage (NAS) appliances with integrated Access Points (APs).

SMARTROVE stated that after months of intensive testing and evaluation, Quantenna's chipset has proven to deliver wire-like performance in very challenging radio environments. By combining SMARTROVE's Layer 3 technologies with the Quantenna chipset, SMARTROVE and GET Security are able to deliver cutting-edge cloud computing and management solutions with enterprise grade security.

Officials with Quantenna remarked that they have worked closely with SMARTROVE to develop one of the world's most robust solutions for challenging Wi-Fi hotspot and carrier backhaul applications. The combination of Quantenna's 802.11n 4x4 MIMO chipset with SMARTROVE's unique intelligent traffic controller delivers wire-like throughput for carrier backhaul and public service applications.

Quantenna added that its chipset is going to be demonstrated at the 2012 International CES, January 10-13, 2012, in the company's suite in the North Tower at the Las Vegas Hilton.
