GTECH Chooses Locaid to Enable its Secure Online and Mobile Gaming

The leading provider of gaming and lottery solutions, GTECH, recently announced that Locaid has been chosen to enable their secure online and mobile gaming applications and lottery systems.

Locaid, the largest Location-as-a-Service (LaaS) company in the world, will provide GTECH with a “secure mobile location,” and other advanced location-based solutions that include location authentication and geo-fencing facilities to support their mobile-based gaming applications and lottery systems.

Locaid is the largest LaaS company in the world, providing a high-end “location privacy platform” that enables Smartphone developers to incorporate and locate more than 350 million devices for fraud management, enterprise authentication, opt-in mobile marketing, and consumer location services. The advanced Locaid solution can efficiently locate feature phones, Smartphones, tablet or any mobile device operating on ‘giant’ wireless carriers such as AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint etc.

The company is also responsible for designing and enforcing the “location privacy” policies through a leadership role in top governing associations like MMA, CTIA, and IAPP. Locaid provides secure and highly scalable network location to the largest mobile marketers, financial institutions, mobile service providers and M2M platforms across the world.

By integrating Locaid’s network location, GTECH has emerged as the leading provider of innovative lottery technology solutions in the United States. The company offers a comprehensive range of services that include geo-compliance engine, which ensures and validates whether any type of lottery purchase on a web-enabled devices or mobile phone is within the border of state lines, or outside of the stipulated “exclusion zone,” such as tribal lands. The Locaid network location solution is the only high-end service that offers secure IP and mobile location in a designated combination that evenly satisfied the core needs of global operators like GTECH.

Talking about the new venture with GTECH, Rip Gerber, president and chief executive officer of Locaid stated that they were the only advanced location platform in the world that can efficiently meet the demands of GTECH for a secure IP and mobile location. While GTECH demands the best in class technology partners for its PC and mobile gaming and lottery systems, advanced Locaid technology offers the maximum reach combined with unrivaled services.

Expressing his enthusiasm in choosing Locaid to enable their gaming and lottery systems on mobile phone and web-enabled devices, Matthew Whalen, chief technology officer and senior vice-president at GTECH, remarked that they are a high-end platform leader in an evolving industry, which is rapidly considering the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) phenomenon. GTECH chose Locaid with the aim to reach out to all the customers, irrespective of the type of devices they have. With Locaid solution, the company can efficiently deliver the uptime and reach that meet the rigorous needs of the partners, which includes state gaming regulators and lottery administrators.
