GL Communications Undergoes Mobile Data Testing

In a statement on GL.com, GL Communications announced it is releasing voice and data testing with enhanced mobile applications. This release will incorporate its current testing solutions into broader range of products and add mobility and simplicity to its programs.

Voice and data testing can be particularly important for companies doing a large amount of business online in real time, where data delay could affect possible outcomes. This just as well for business who have a large number of personnel in the field using cellular devices.

Although these devices cannot be monitored as they travel, problems can be diagnosed and repaired before leaving for the field again.

The VQuad software is the primary testing product that GL employs – along with add-on protocols for the specific parameters of testing being conducted. The new VQuad Probe is a new self-contained, highly portable unit that has all the VQuad software included on an internal solid state drive.

The device has several connection methods, including Bluetooth, USB, VGA, COM and Ethernet ports.

GL’s data testing products are compatible with PC, Android and Apple products, and can test data transfer over Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Broadband, 3G/4G and LTE networks. Data testing includes network connection quality, SMS and delay measurements.

The voice testing applications include voice quality, echo measurement, background noise and connection quality.

However, these are only some of the voice and data testing options now available from GL. GL’s testing solutions also include the ability to access the network testing device remotely, allowing the user to start and stop testing sessions as necessary. The results can also retrieved remotely and can be viewed as testing is happening or in a compiled report after the test is completed.

All of this can be controlled from the new browser-based WebViewer application, supported by PC and Apple Web browsers including mobile Web applications.
