Rebtel App Releases Update for iOS Users

In today’s busy world, it can be easy to become distracted by life and forget to call the people who matter, whether it is family, friends, a significant other, or all of the above who are being neglected. Thanks to Facebook, remembering their birthdays has become easier, but what about remembering that Sunday call to your mother or your lunchtime call to your girlfriend?

Now, working through lunch is not an excuse for forgetting to check in anymore, thanks to the newly updated app, Rebtel. While the app is primarily targeted at discounted international calling rates, there are features that people can user even when calling within the country.

Rebtel offers the ability to set reminders to call family members and other loved ones, as well as birthday reminders, and, if the other party has the app, too, users are able to make free calls to each other, no matter where they are in the world. If the other user does not have the app, or one is calling a landline, Rebtel offers discounted rates on international calls. For example, a call to South Africa costs 5.8 cents per minute.

The app has just released its 3.0 version for iOS, which offers a few upgraded features: the option to set call reminders, an easier method of checking one’s account balance, a new “favorites” view that features pictures, and what the company calls a “slick” new navigation bar.

Pelle Linde, head of app, says, “To reflect our mission of connecting people with their loved ones, the design is personal, playful, and highlights the contacts closest to you. We created a powerful way of connecting and placing calls, mixed with a beautiful UI that makes managing contacts easier and fun.”

Rebtel promises more updates in the near future.

The app supports a variety of devices, including iPads, Android phones and tablets, PCs, and Windows phones. Android users are now able to use a “more slimmed-down version,” and the company promises that they can expect a full version of the new release “after summer.”
