Straight Talk and Net10 to Offer iPhone 5s and 5c Through Walmart

Walmart and Straight Talk Wireless are starting to make their partnership a bit of a habit. At the beginning of this year, the retail giant and the discount cellular provider teamed up in order to offer a great discount on people who wanted the iPhone 5. Now the two companies have announced a new teammup that will allow for Straight Talk customers to get their hands on the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S.

This particular deal doesn’t just include Straight Talk, another discount cellular provider called Net10 will also be able to offer up the newest versions of Apple’s signature smartphone. The offerings from two companies who specialize in contract free smartphones come just in time for people who are looking for last minute Holiday gift ideas. The deal actually began on December 13, which gives customers a couple more weeks to take advantage of the offer before Christmas is upon us.

Both Straight Talk and Net10 will only be able to offer the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c through Wal-Mart. The companies will be offering the two models on a no-contract 30-day plan that comes with unlimited talk, text and data. That could mean some serious savings when comparing contracts with more traditional cellular carriers.

Pollak, CEO and President, Tracfone Wireless, Inc. in a recent release. "Our growing lineup of premium smartphones with the addition of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c reflects our dedication to providing consumers with affordable plans on the top phones on the nation's fastest and most reliable 4G LTE networks." Tracfone is the parent company of Straight Talk Wireless.

The ability to get the phones without a contract does mean that you’re going to be paying a bit more upfront. The iPhone 5s through this program will start at $649 for the 16GB versions. The iPhone 5c will start off with a pricetag of $549 for the 16GB version. Those who want to save a little money can still get the iPhone 4s 8GB version for $449.
