Super Wi-Fi Summit Heads to Vegas and Calls for Expert Speakers

Norwalk, Conn – February 6, 2014 – TMC and Crossfire Media today announced that Super Wi-Fi Summit will return to Las Vegas, August 11-14, 2014, at The Rio Las Vegas. The global spectrum sharing and TV White Space event is the meeting place for any stakeholder interested in understanding how TV White Space and shared spectrum alternatives will drive innovation, new products and new broadband revenue opportunities.

The airwaves are filling up with data from smart phones, tables and the internet of everything. Finding ways to support the upload and offload of the wireless internet requires new comparative/competitive strategies. Much of the spectrum policy reform taking place is being trialed and proposed thanks to the opportunity with TV white space. Shared spectrum is now being discussed, designed and deployed around the world in ways that fulfill the promise of Super Wi-Fi.

Programming at Super Wi-Fi Summit will focus on providing in-depth conversation through panel sessions, case studies and keynote presentations on topics including regulatory issues, spectrum auction dialogues, devices including small cells, shared spectrum technical issues, trials, TVWS market potential and more. The Las Vegas event has opened its official Call for Papers and is accepting proposals through February 28, 2014. Interested speakers are asked to submit their session ideas. Suggested topics include:

  • Next-Gen Spectrum Sharing Technologies
  • Market Outlook and Investment Opportunities for White Spaces and Alternative Spectrum Solutions
  • Small Cell Opportunity Including Femto, Picocells and Microcells
  • Role of Small Cell Deployments in Commercial Applications Including Rural and Underserved Areas
  • White Spaces Trial Results and Future Market Opportunities
  • Recognizing the White Spaces Business Model and Investment Opportunities
  • White Spaces Regulatory and Standards Issues
  • The Changing Role of the WISP in the New Age of Super Wi-Fi
  • White Spaces Databases – Technical and Market Opportunity Issues

Super Wi-Fi Summit speakers must adhere 100% to TMC’s “no commercialism” policy. If speakers cannot avoid commercialism, please do not submit a proposal. Questions regarding speaking opportunities at Super Wi-Fi Summit should be sent to Carl Ford at 201-931-5870.

“Super Wi-Fi Summit brings together the TV White Space and shared spectrum ecosystem to explore and present new technologies and methodologies to keep up with today’s high demand for data. The conversations and education offered at the event are cornerstones to the development and understanding of how the licensed/unlicensed spectrum can be used to cost-effectively meet broadband demand,” said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, executive director of content, Super Wi-Fi Summit.
