TruckSmart Expands Mobile App to Smartphone Platform

TravelCenters of America (TA) has released version 2.0 of its TruckSmart mobile application for Android and iPhone smartphone platforms.

The new version comes equipped with several first-in-the-industry features. Company officials said that it gives professional drivers the power to access their UltraONE Rewards Program account information that includes point balances, shower credits and recent transactions without stopping at the driver kiosk.

TruckSmart 2.0 also features upgraded search capabilities. Moreover, each location’s amenities screen has a place to show special at-location promotions and events. Plus, it has become easier to find locations and amenities within the app due to navigational enhancements.

Additional enhancements built into the new version include the ability for users to search for locations by highway, to share their location coordinates, and to place a call to TA customer service with the press of a button.

With the help of the new instant shower feature, drivers can know if there’s a wait for a shower and will alert the driver when the shower is ready for them. Company officials said that ready showers will be held open for 15 minutes.

Calling TruckSmart 2.0 is a “blockbuster” and a “category killer,” Tom O’Brien, president and CEO at TA, said that drivers have asked for the UltraONE loyalty club features and the company has added.

“But what I am really excited about is the instant shower feature,” he said, adding that UltraONE members can reserve a shower from their sleeper cabs, from the store, or from anywhere in the country, without stopping at the driver kiosk.

Additionally, the app includes capabilities from the previous version, including restaurant, service and travel store specials; location mapping and directions to all TA and Petro locations; site amenities; and more.

Recently, TA completed its nationwide rollout of Noregon Systems’s JPRO Fleet Diagnostics, a highly advanced, truck repair diagnostic tool for all makes.
