Kcell Adopts Comptel's Provisioning and Activation System

Comptel Corporation, a leading provider of dynamic Operations Support System (OSS) software, recently announced that Kcell, a provider of mobile-based voice and broadband services in Kazakhstan, has deployed Comptel Provisioning and Activation product. This product will help Kcell automate operational processes from handling subscriber orders to billing.

Comptel Provisioning and Activation is part of Comptel Fulfillment, a fully integrated suite of products which also includes order management, catalog, and service and resource inventory capabilities.

“We are very pleased to partner with Kcell for its service activation,” Timo Koistinen, senior vice president, Europe East, Comptel, said. “The Kcell deployment is one of a number of new deployments of Comptel Fulfillment, demonstrating the strong trust that leading CSPs have in our solution.”

Comptel Provisioning and Activation helps mobile operators fully automate the operations processes, from handling subscriber orders to activating resources and services in the network to managing billing. The product aids operators in reducing costs and manual errors and provides services to subscribers without delay, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction and reducing churn.

Kcell was looking at replacing its existing provisioning and activation system with an easy to configure, vendor-independent and easily available product, according to company offiicals. Comptel Provisioning and Activation offered just the transparent deployment and integration with Kcell’s OSS/BSS systems.

In addition, Comptel also provided an agile Service Oriented Architecture to support Kcell’s future OSS/BSS needs. All in all, Kcell was able to deploy the product and put it into action in less than three months.

In a recent development, Comptel and independent analyst firm Heavy Reading released a white paper that explores how communications service providers (CSPs) can use next-generation mediation platforms to effectively manage the growth in data traffic and monetize advanced network and subscriber services.
