Uplink Remote Offers Alarm System Monitoring via Cellular Network

Uplink recently announced the launch of Uplink Remote, a service allowing users to monitor and control alarm systems from remote locations over a cellular network. Users can now control their alarm systems remotely via iOS or Android devices and/or any Internet-connected computer.

Uplink Remote displays the status of an alarm system in real-time, allowing users to arm or disarm the system remotely, and stores up to 60 days of event history automatically. Remote also has the functionality to send text messages or emails when an alarm is tripped or similar event occurs.

Once equipped, users can login to their Uplink Remote account while on-the-go. There are dedicated apps available for Android and iPhone devices in each of their respective stores, or users can login using any Internet-enabled device at UplinkRemote.com.

The service works over a cellular network. All communications are encrypted to ensure safety of your passwords and to improve reliability of the service.

“We are committed to the regular introduction of new services to expand system features and value for the alarm's owner as well as to increase monthly revenue for alarm dealers,” said Mike Boyle, GM of Uplink. “Uplink Remote is another example of how we have responded to the needs of the industry and requests of alarm companies to provide this service.”

The Uplink Remote service is compatible with new or existing applications already equipped with cellular communicators. Installation requires some extra wiring and programming on the part of the installer.

Uplink will feature its new Remote service and other products at ISC West show in Las Vegas March 28-30.
