Brightpoint Inc., a company which describes itself as, "a global leader in providing device lifecycle services to the wireless industry," and Metro PCS, a "provider of no annual contract, unlimited wireless communications service for a flat-rate” have come to an agreement again. MetroPCS is the fifth largest facilities-based wireless carrier in the United States based on a number of subscribers served. The two companies have decided to join forces for a second time in order to enhance both of their offerings.
Metro PCS and Brightpoint Inc. have decided to work together to bring the phones of Brightpoint Inc. to the customers of Metro PCS. This will allow Metro PCS customers to keep their current range of phone offerings, and perhaps to expand the phones as time goes on. After all this is a multi-year deal and Brightpoint Inc. is bound to make support for a new range of phones between now and the end of the contract renewal.
J. Mark Howell, the president of Brightpoint Americas, had the following to say about the continuation of the deal
in the release, "Our continuing relationship is a testament to BrightPoint's ability to provide value to MetroPCS and, in turn, their customers. We are committed to delivering customer excellence through our industry leading device lifecycle management capabilities."This deal is set to impact a significant number of people, as Metro PCS can boast 9.5 million subscribers, give or take a little, currently. The company has significant room to grow in the future, as they currently have a network that covers an area of about 280 million people.
