iBAHN Enhances Hotel Guest's Experience with Mobile Application

iBAHN has released the latest version of its integrated IPTV platform, ETVi version 20.5, which features new mobile capabilities allowing users to download an app to access additional entertainment and information content through their personal device.

iBAHN said the new ETVi changes the typical hotel experience. “If the information revolution of the past decade has taught marketers anything, it is that the most reliable profit centers are those valuable touch points where your brand and your customer meet. It’s the very reason forward-thinking hoteliers are quickly getting the full picture of the advantages of ETVi over traditional in-room platforms,” said iBAHN. “Only ETVi combines the guest satisfaction of an IP-based, high-definition viewing experience, including the most HD channels in the marketplace, together with a full range of informative services.”

This next generation technology puts the control back in the consumers’ hand with their own devices. Now, guests can select channels, control volume, fast forward, and select content on the television, through video on demand, or Web streams all from the comfort of their own device.

The company said it expects this new feature to take off due to the ease of use. “For guests, the adoption rate will be high, as they are already familiar with operating their own devices. By simply accessing the application, guests can quickly find the entertainment and hotel services content they seek, without having to learn to navigate a new system or locate the printed channel guide in the room.”

This technology lets hotel guests have full access to their current room costs, view special promotions, purchase additional hotel services, get their messages, and even view all of the hotel information on the screen, such as how much the minibar items cost and what the pool hours are – all from the application.

“With ETVi 20.5 we’re empowering hoteliers to deliver the most cutting-edge, individualized and seamless multiscreen experience for the guest,” said Roger Crellin, iBAHN president of the Americas. “The new mobile app builds upon the richness of the already industry-leading integrated iBAHN network and ETVi platform.”

The app is currently available for download, for free from the iTunes Store and Android Market.
